Jesenia Ortiz-Ruiz, MMS, PA-C, is a certified Physician Assistant at Dawson Med located in Wilmington, North Carolina.

Jesenia completed her undergraduate degree at Methodist University located in Fayetteville, NC. She then returned to Methodist to complete her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies.

As a member of a minority community, Jesenia aims to help provide comprehensive care to all and extend her services to the Spanish-speaking community. She enjoys building meaningful provider-patient relationships and connecting with patients to provide the best care possible through educated shared-decision making. She enjoys explaining and values teaching moments with patients and encourages questions from patients.

Jesenia especially values mental health. In a fast-tracked society, mental health often takes the back seat. She encourages patients to speak up and seek services not only for their physical health but also for their mental health. The mind and body are intertwined intricately, and addressing both is key to comprehensive healthcare.
